Engine Internals: Cylinder Head & Crankshaft
Cylinder Head Assembly (GY6-Based Air-Cooled OHC)
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
| 12200-GFY6-92A | 1 | Head Comp., Cylinder | Resurface flatness tolerance 0.05mm max |
| 12210-GFY6-92A | 1 | Valve, Exhaust | Check margin thickness > 0.5mm before reuse |
| 12220-GFY6-92A | 1 | Valve, Inlet | Larger head diameter — do not swap positions |
| 12251-GFY6-92A | 1 | Gasket, Head Cyl. | Single-use metal composite; never reuse |
| 14100-GFY6-92A | 1 | Camshaft Comp. | Chain-driven; inspect lobe wear before reinstall |
Crankshaft & Piston Assembly
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
| 13300-GFY6-92A | 1 | Crankshaft Comp. | Check runout < 0.03mm on V-blocks |
| 13210-GFY6-92A | 1 | Connecting Rod | Big-end side clearance spec: 0.1-0.4mm |
| 13010-GFY6-92A | 1 | Piston (Std.) | Domed piston, 2-ring set |
| 13111-GFY6-92A | 1 | Piston Pin | Lightly oil before install; hand-pressure fit only |
| 13115-GFY6-92A | 2 | Piston Pin Clip (Circlip) | Directional installation — see expert note below |
Field note: As on every GY6-derived engine in this catalog, the piston pin circlips must be installed
with the opening gap oriented 90° to the direction of piston travel, never fore-or-aft. A clip
installed backward compresses under inertial load on every stroke until it walks out of its groove and
ejects into the crankcase, and the freed pin gouges the cylinder wall on the following stroke, destroying
the bore. Use only new clips, and confirm full seating by feel before closing the case halves.

Field note: Kymco's painted plastic panels become progressively brittle at the mounting tabs after a few
years of continuous UV exposure, even when the paint surface still looks presentable. Never use an impact
driver on body screws — the torque spike snaps a brittle tab instantly — and apply silicone
grease (never petroleum-based) to rubber grommets before removal so panels flex free without cracking.
