Kymco Agility 50 - Master Maintenance & Torque Guide

The Kymco Agility 50 uses a GY6-derived air-cooled engine platform found across much of the Chinese-Taiwanese scooter market, meaning its ignition coil and CVT roller weights follow the same broad tolerances as many competing 50cc scooters. That shared architecture is a benefit for parts availability, but mechanics must still respect Kymco's specific mounting torque and resistance values rather than assuming generic GY6 numbers apply exactly.

Field note: The Agility 50 4-stroke QMB139 engine holds 0.7L for routine oil changes. Clean the mesh oil strainer screen located under the drain cap with solvent during every service. The gearbox takes 110ml of SAE 80W-90 GL-5 gear oil.

CVT Transmission System

ComponentCVT Roller Weights
OEM Part Number22121-GFY6-92A
Dimensions16 x 13 mm, 6.5g each
Torque SpecVariator nut: 40 Nm
Cross-CompatibilityMost GY6 50cc scooters
Field note: Aftermarket roller weight sets sold as "GY6 50cc compatible" frequently vary by 1-2 grams from the OEM 6.5g spec, which is enough to noticeably shift the shift curve and top speed. Always weigh rollers individually before installing a full set, and torque the variator nut to exactly 40 Nm — over-torquing on this small-bore crank taper is a common cause of premature crank wear during belt/roller service.

13115-GFY6-92A2Piston Pin Clip (Circlip)Directional installation — see expert note below
Field note: As on every GY6-derived engine in this catalog, the piston pin circlips must be installed with the opening gap oriented 90° to the direction of piston travel, never fore-or-aft. A clip installed backward compresses under inertial load on every stroke until it walks out of its groove and ejects into the crankcase, and the freed pin gouges the cylinder wall on the following stroke, destroying the bore. Use only new clips, and confirm full seating by feel before closing the case halves.

Field note: Kymco's painted plastic panels become progressively brittle at the mounting tabs after a few years of continuous UV exposure, even when the paint surface still looks presentable. Never use an impact driver on body screws — the torque spike snaps a brittle tab instantly — and apply silicone grease (never petroleum-based) to rubber grommets before removal so panels flex free without cracking.
