Engine Fluids, Gear Oil & Filter Specifications
| Engine Oil Viscosity & JASO/API Standard | SAE 15W-50 Full Synthetic (API SL/SM, JASO MA Wet Clutch) |
|---|---|
| Engine Oil Drain & Refill Capacity | 1.5 L (With Filter) |
| Final Drive / Gearbox Oil Viscosity & Volume | SAE 80W-90 GL-4 (250 ml) |
| OEM Oil Filter Part Number | 82635R |
| OEM Air Filter Element Part Number | 876922 |
| Spark Plug Model & Electrode Gap | NGK CR8EKB (Electrode gap: 0.7 - 0.8 mm) |
Field note: The BV350 engine incorporates an integrated wet multi-plate clutch within the engine oil bath, requiring JASO MA rated 15W-50 full synthetic oil. Never use low-friction API SN energy-conserving car oils or JASO MB oils, as friction modifiers will cause internal wet clutch slippage. Gearbox oil takes exactly 250 ml of SAE 80W-90 GL-4. Engine Internals: Cylinder Head & Crankshaft
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 831102 | 1 | Head Comp., Cylinder | High Performance Engine (HPE) design; resurface flatness < 0.05mm |
| 831115 | 1 | Valve, Exhaust | Check margin thickness > 0.5mm before reuse |
| 831122 | 1 | Valve, Inlet | Larger head diameter — do not swap positions |
| 831140 | 1 | Gasket, Head Cyl. | Single-use metal composite; never reuse |
| 831165 | 1 | Camshaft Comp. | Chain-driven; inspect lobe wear before reinstall |
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 831210 | 1 | Crankshaft Comp. | Check runout < 0.03mm on V-blocks |
| 831225 | 1 | Connecting Rod | Big-end side clearance spec: 0.1-0.4mm |
| 831250 | 1 | Piston (Std.) | Domed piston, 3-ring set |
| 831265 | 1 | Piston Pin | Lightly oil before install; hand-pressure fit only |
| 831270 | 2 | Piston Pin Clip (Circlip) | Directional installation — see expert note below |
Field note: On the HPE engine's high-compression short block, the piston pin circlips must be installed with the opening gap oriented 90° to the direction of piston travel, never fore-or-aft. A backward clip compresses under inertial load on every stroke until it walks out of its groove and ejects into the crankcase, and the freed pin gouges the cylinder wall on the following stroke, destroying the bore. Use only new clips and confirm full seating by feel before closing the case.

Field note: The Beverly/BV350's large touring fairing panels have substantial surface area exposed to UV,
and the mounting tabs behind that painted surface become brittle after roughly three years of continuous
exposure. Never use an impact driver on body screws — a snapped tab on a large fairing panel is a
costly sourcing problem — and apply silicone grease (never petroleum-based) to rubber grommets
before removal.
