Engine Fluids, Gear Oil & Filter Specifications
| Engine Oil Viscosity & Standard | SAE 10W-40 / 5W-40 Synthetic API SL/SM JASO MB |
|---|---|
| Engine Oil Capacity | 1.2 L (without filter) / 1.4 L (with filter) |
| Final Drive / Gearbox Oil | SAE 85W-140 / 80W-90 — 160 ml (refill) / 180 ml (total) |
| OEM Oil Filter Part Number | 15400-HMA-000 |
| OEM Air Filter Element Part Number | 17211-LEH-000 |
| Spark Plug Model & Electrode Gap | NGK DPR7EA-9 (0.8 – 0.9 mm) |
Field note: The Citycom 300i holds 1.2L during standard oil drains and 1.4L when replacing the 15400-HMA-000 spin-on filter element. Gearbox requires 160ml refill (180ml total capacity) of SAE 85W-140 or 80W-90 gear oil. Always verify oil level with dipstick unthreaded while on center stand.
Engine Internals: Cylinder Head & Crankshaft
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12100-L3A-0000 | 1 | Head Comp., Cylinder | Resurface flatness tolerance 0.05mm max |
| 12210-L3A-0000 | 1 | Valve, Exhaust | Check margin thickness > 0.5mm before reuse |
| 12220-L3A-0000 | 1 | Valve, Inlet | Larger head diameter — do not swap positions |
| 12251-L3A-0000 | 1 | Gasket, Head Cyl. | Single-use metal composite; never reuse |
| 14100-L3A-0000 | 1 | Camshaft Comp. | Chain-driven; inspect lobe wear before reinstall |
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 13300-L3A-0000 | 1 | Crankshaft Comp. | Check runout < 0.03mm on V-blocks |
| 13210-L3A-0000 | 1 | Connecting Rod | Big-end side clearance spec: 0.1-0.4mm |
| 13010-L3A-0000 | 1 | Piston (Std.) | Domed piston, 3-ring set |
| 13111-L3A-0000 | 1 | Piston Pin | Lightly oil before install; hand-pressure fit only |
| 13115-L3A-0000 | 2 | Piston Pin Clip (Circlip) | Directional installation — see expert note below |
Field note: On this 300cc-class single, the piston pin circlips must be installed with the opening gap oriented 90° to piston travel, never fore-or-aft. A backward clip compresses under inertial load on every stroke until it walks out of its groove and ejects into the crankcase, and the freed pin gouges the cylinder wall on the following stroke, destroying the bore. Use only new clips and confirm full seating by feel before closing the case.

Field note: The Citycom's large fairing panels have more surface area exposed to UV than smaller SYM bodywork, and the mounting tabs behind that painted surface become brittle after roughly three years of continuous exposure. Never use an impact driver on body screws, and apply silicone grease (never petroleum-based) to rubber grommets before removal so large panels flex free without snapping a tab.
