Engine Fluids, Gear Oil & Filter Specifications
| Engine Oil Viscosity & Standard | SAE 10W-40 API SL/SJ JASO MB |
|---|---|
| Engine Oil Capacity | 0.8 L (drain) / 0.9 L (total) |
| Final Drive / Gearbox Oil | SAE 85W-140 / 80W-90 — 100 ml (refill) / 110 ml (total) |
| OEM Oil Strainer Part Number | 15421-M9Q-000 (Cleanable mesh screen) |
| OEM Air Filter Element Part Number | 17211-ARA-000 |
| Spark Plug Model & Electrode Gap | NGK CR7HSA (0.6 – 0.7 mm) |
Field note: The Fiddle III 200i engine holds 0.8L for routine oil drains and 0.9L total. Clean the 15421-M9Q-000 mesh screen strainer under the drain cap with solvent during every service. The gearbox requires 100ml refill (110ml total capacity) of SAE 85W-140 or 80W-90 gear oil.
CVT Transmission System
| Component | CVT Drive Belt |
|---|---|
| OEM Part Number | 23100-HKA-000 |
| Dimensions | 818 x 19.5 mm |
| Torque Spec | Drive face nut: 55 Nm |
| Cross-Compatibility | SYM Lance Havana Classic 200i |
Field note: Because this platform is sold under multiple brand badges, replacement belts sourced under a different brand name sometimes carry slightly different width tolerances despite claiming the same fitment. Measure any substitute belt against the 818 x 19.5mm spec before installation, and torque the drive face nut to exactly 55 Nm regardless of which badge is on the bodywork.
Braking System
| Component | Front Brake Pads |
|---|---|
| OEM Part Number | 45105-H9A-000 |
| Dimensions | Standard 2-piston caliper fit |
| Torque Spec | Caliper bolts: 32 Nm (24 lbf·ft) |
| Fluid Spec | DOT 4 |
| Cross-Compatibility | SYM Lance Havana Classic 200i |
Field note: The 2-piston caliper on this platform requires even torque distribution across both bolts to seat correctly; tightening one bolt fully before the other cants the caliper slightly and causes one pad to wear faster than the other. Always alternate between bolts in small increments up to the full 32 Nm.
Engine Internals: Cylinder Head & Crankshaft
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12100-HKA-000 | 1 | Head Comp., Cylinder | Resurface flatness tolerance 0.05mm max |
| 12210-HKA-000 | 1 | Valve, Exhaust | Check margin thickness > 0.5mm before reuse |
| 12220-HKA-000 | 1 | Valve, Inlet | Larger head diameter — do not swap positions |
| 12251-HKA-000 | 1 | Gasket, Head Cyl. | Single-use metal composite; never reuse |
| 14100-HKA-000 | 1 | Camshaft Comp. | Chain-driven; inspect lobe wear before reinstall |
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 13300-HKA-000 | 1 | Crankshaft Comp. | Check runout < 0.03mm on V-blocks |
| 13210-HKA-000 | 1 | Connecting Rod | Big-end side clearance spec: 0.1-0.4mm |
| 13010-HKA-000 | 1 | Piston (Std.) | Domed piston, 3-ring set |
| 13111-HKA-000 | 1 | Piston Pin | Lightly oil before install; hand-pressure fit only |
| 13115-HKA-000 | 2 | Piston Pin Clip (Circlip) | Directional installation — see expert note below |
Field note: On this air-cooled 200cc single, the piston pin circlips must be installed with the opening gap oriented 90° to piston travel, never fore-or-aft. A backward clip compresses under inertial load on every stroke until it walks out of its groove and ejects into the crankcase, and the freed pin gouges the cylinder wall on the following stroke, destroying the bore. Use only new clips and confirm full seating by feel before closing the case.

Field note: SYM's painted plastic panels become progressively brittle at the mounting tabs after roughly three years of continuous UV exposure, even when the paint surface still looks presentable. Never use an impact driver on body screws, and apply silicone grease (never petroleum-based) to rubber grommets before removal so panels flex free without cracking.
