Engine Oil Viscosity & Standard SAE 10W-40 | API SE / SF / SG / SL Standard
Engine Oil Drain & Refill Capacity 0.7L (without filter / drain) / 0.8L (total capacity)
Final Drive / Gearbox Oil & Capacity SAE 10W-40 / 80W-90 | 100ml (drain) / 120ml (total)
OEM Oil Filter Part Number Strainer Screen OEM # 15421-035-010 (Clean with solvent at oil change)
OEM Air Filter Element Part Number OEM # 17205-GV4-000 (Foam air filter element)
Spark Plug Model & Electrode Gap NGK CR7HS | Electrode Gap: 0.6-0.7mm (0.024-0.028 in)
Expert Maintenance Note: The CH80 engine requires SAE 10W-40 oil. Clean the lower oil screen (OEM # 15421-035-010) during every oil change. Always replace the gear oil (100ml drain / 120ml refill) periodically to maintain final reduction gear life.

CVT Transmission System

ComponentCVT Drive Belt
OEM Part Number23100-GE1-711
DimensionsKevlar reinforced
Torque SpecDrive face nut: 39 Nm
Cross-CompatibilityHonda Aero 80
Field note: On this smaller-displacement variator, exceeding 39 Nm on the drive face nut deforms the pulley face and accelerates belt edge wear; under-torquing lets the nut back off under vibration, which is the single most common cause of sudden loss of drive on the CH80. Always re-check torque after the first 100 miles following any belt service.

Ignition & Electrical System

ComponentCDI Ignition Unit
OEM Part Number30410-GE1-670
Dimensions6-pin connector (4+2 block)
Torque SpecN/A (harness-mounted, rubber isolated)
Fluid/Electrical Notes12V DC System
Cross-CompatibilityHonda Spree (NQ50)
Field note: On decades-old CH80 units, the 6-pin connector block is the actual failure point far more often than the CDI itself. Corroded or loose pins in the 4+2 block cause exactly the same symptoms as a dead CDI — no spark, intermittent cutout — leading many owners to needlessly replace a good module. Always clean and dielectric-grease this connector before condemning the CDI unit.

13111-GE1-7111Piston PinLightly oil before install; hand-pressure fit only
13115-GE1-7112Piston Pin Clip (Circlip)Directional installation — see expert note below
Field note: On this legacy small-bore engine, the piston pin circlips must be fitted with their opening gap 90° to piston travel, never fore-or-aft. A backward clip compresses under load on every stroke until it walks out of its groove and ejects into the crankcase, and the freed pin gouges the cylinder wall on the next stroke. On an engine this old, always inspect the groove itself for wear before assuming a new clip alone will hold — a worn groove will eject even a correctly-oriented clip eventually.

Field note: On a platform this old, the plastic mounting tabs behind the painted surface are well past the typical three-year UV brittleness threshold on nearly every surviving unit. Never use an impact driver on body screws; approach every panel removal assuming the tabs are already compromised, and apply silicone grease to rubber grommets before removal to minimize additional flex stress.
