Expert Maintenance Note: Always specify JASO MA or MA2 10W-30 engine oil on the Honda Grom 125 to ensure proper friction coefficients for the integrated wet clutch. Never use JASO MB or automotive energy-conserving oils in the Grom, as friction modifiers will cause immediate wet clutch slippage. For 2014-2021 models, clean the internal centrifugal oil spinner during major maintenance; 2022+ models feature an external oil filter cartridge (OEM # 15412-MGS-D31).

| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 13300-K26-900 | 1 | Crankshaft Comp. | Check runout < 0.03mm on V-blocks |
| 13210-K26-900 | 1 | Connecting Rod | Big-end side clearance spec: 0.1-0.4mm |
| 13010-K26-900 | 1 | Piston (Std.) | High-compression flat-top piston |
| 13111-K26-900 | 1 | Piston Pin | Lightly oil before install; hand-pressure fit only |
| 13115-K26-900 | 2 | Piston Pin Clip (Circlip) | Directional installation — see expert note below |
Field note: The Grom's higher-RPM-capable engine makes piston pin circlip orientation especially critical
— the gap must face 90° to the direction of piston travel, never fore-or-aft. A backward clip
compresses under inertial load on every stroke until it walks out of its groove and ejects into the
crankcase, and the freed pin gouges the cylinder wall on the very next stroke, destroying the bore. This
engine's centrifugal oil filter (see lubrication system above) means any debris from a botched piston
service also circulates directly through that same filter housing, so a clean, methodical rebuild matters
twice as much here.

Field note: The Grom's compact plastic bodywork uses the same UV-sensitive mounting tabs found across
Honda's small-displacement lineup. Never use an impact driver on body screws — a brittle tab snaps
instantly under a torque spike — and apply silicone grease (never petroleum-based) to rubber
grommets before removal so panels flex free without cracking.
