Kymco Super 8 150 - Master Maintenance & Torque Guide

The Kymco Super 8 150 uses the same 835 x 20 x 30mm CVT belt and 55 Nm drive face nut torque found on the Agility 125, reflecting Kymco's shared GY6-based mid-displacement transmission family. Belt and variator service on the Super 8 is therefore a direct match to other models in this family, provided the correct torque discipline is applied consistently.

Field note: As on every GY6-derived engine in this catalog, the piston pin circlips must be installed with the opening gap oriented 90° to piston travel, never fore-or-aft. A backward clip compresses under inertial load until it ejects into the crankcase, and the freed pin gouges the cylinder wall on the next stroke, destroying the bore. Use only new clips and confirm full seating by feel.

Field note: Kymco's painted plastic panels become progressively brittle at the mounting tabs after a few years of continuous UV exposure. Never use an impact driver on body screws, and apply silicone grease (never petroleum-based) to rubber grommets before removal so panels flex free without cracking.
