Engine Fluids, Gear Oil & Filter Specifications

Specification Parameter OEM Factory Technical Value
Engine Oil Viscosity & Standard SAE 10W-30 | API SG/SL | JASO MB Standard
Engine Oil Drain & Refill Capacity 1.2L (without filter / drain) / 1.4L (total with filter / overhaul)
Final Drive / Gearbox Oil & Capacity SAE 10W-30 / 80W-90 | 270ml (drain) / 300ml (total)
OEM Oil Filter Part Number Spin-on Cartridge Filter OEM # 15410-KYJ-901 (Torque: 26 Nm)
OEM Air Filter Element Part Number OEM # 17210-K04-900 (Viscous paper element)
Spark Plug Model & Electrode Gap NGK LMAR8A-9 | Electrode Gap: 0.8-0.9mm | Torque: 16 Nm
Expert Maintenance Note: The Forza 300 uses a spin-on spin-cartridge oil filter (OEM # 15410-KYJ-901). Always lubricate the rubber seal on the new filter with clean engine oil and torque to 26 Nm. The final drive reduction gearbox requires 270ml of gear oil on drain (300ml total).

CVT Transmission System

ComponentCVT Roller Weights (Set of 6)
OEM Part Number22123-K04-930
Dimensions25 x 20 mm, 21g each
Torque SpecVariator nut: 83 Nm (61 lbf·ft)
Cross-CompatibilityHonda SH300i
Field note: At 83 Nm, this variator nut requires significantly more torque than Honda's 50-125cc scooters, and technicians who habitually service smaller machines sometimes under-torque it from muscle memory. An under-torqued 300cc variator nut will back off under sustained highway load, and by the time the rider notices a rattling top-end noise, the crankshaft taper is often already damaged. Also verify all six roller weights are within 0.5g of each other — mismatched rollers cause uneven variator wear and inconsistent shift feel.

13111-K04-9301Piston PinLightly oil before install; hand-pressure fit only
13115-K04-9302Piston Pin Clip (Circlip)Directional installation — see expert note below
Field note: On this 300cc-class single, piston speeds and inertial loading on the pin clips are noticeably higher than on smaller Honda scooter engines, making correct circlip orientation even more critical. The gap must face 90° to the direction of piston travel, never fore-or-aft — a backward clip compresses under load until it ejects into the crankcase, and the freed pin gouges the cylinder wall on the next stroke, destroying the bore. Always use new clips and verify full seating by feel.

Field note: The Forza's large fairing panels have more surface area exposed to UV than smaller scooter bodywork, and the mounting tabs behind that painted surface become brittle at roughly the same three-year mark. Never use an impact driver on body screws, and apply silicone grease (never petroleum-based) to rubber grommets before removal so large panels can flex free without snapping a tab.
