Piaggio Liberty 150 - Master Maintenance & Torque Guide

The Piaggio Liberty 150 uses the same 3-valve ignition architecture found across Piaggio's i-Get 150cc family, sharing its spark plug specification directly with the Vespa Primavera 150. This shared electrical DNA means ignition diagnostics learned on one model carry over cleanly to the other, provided the correct gap and torque values are respected.

⚡ Quick Maintenance Specs & Direct Answers

  • Engine Oil: SAE 5W-40 Synthetic (API SL/SM)
  • Engine Oil Capacity: 1.0 L (with oil filter replacement)
  • Gear Oil & Volume: SAE 80W-90 GL-4 (200 ml)

Field note: The 3-Valve i-Get 150cc engine in the Liberty 150 requires 1.0 L of synthetic 5W-40 engine oil during oil filter replacement. Gearbox reduction oil requires exactly 200 ml of SAE 80W-90 GL-4. For related specs on identical small-frame i-Get platforms, consult the complete Vespa Primavera 150 oil and transmission spec guide and the Vespa Sprint 150 master guide.

ComponentSpark Plug
OEM Part NumberNGK CR8EB
Dimensions10mm thread, 19mm reach
Torque Spec12-14 Nm
Electrode Gap0.7 - 0.8 mm
Cross-CompatibilityVespa Primavera 150
Field note: Exceeding 14 Nm on this plug risks stripping the aluminum head threads on the i-Get engine family, a repair that requires a helicoil insert and full head removal in most cases. Always stop tightening once the plug bottoms out and crushes the gasket, roughly 1/4 to 1/2 turn past hand-tight.

8512651Piston PinLightly oil before install; hand-pressure fit only
8512702Piston Pin Clip (Circlip)Directional installation — see expert note below
Field note: On the i-Get 3-valve engine shared with the Vespa Primavera 150, the piston pin circlips must be installed with the opening gap oriented 90° to piston travel, never fore-or-aft. A backward clip compresses under load until it ejects into the crankcase, and the freed pin gouges the cylinder wall on the next stroke, destroying the bore. Use only new clips and confirm full seating by feel.

Field note: Piaggio's painted plastic panels become progressively brittle at the mounting tabs after roughly three years of UV exposure. Never use an impact driver on body screws, and apply silicone grease (never petroleum-based) to rubber grommets before removal so panels flex free without cracking.
