Engine Fluids, Gear Oil & Filter Specifications
| Engine Oil Viscosity & JASO/API Standard | SAE 5W-40 Full Synthetic (API SL/SM, JASO MA/MA2) |
|---|---|
| Engine Oil Drain & Refill Capacity | 1.0 L (Without Filter) / 1.1 L (With Filter) |
| Final Drive / Gearbox Oil Viscosity & Volume | SAE 80W-90 GL-4 (200 ml) |
| OEM Oil Filter Part Number | 82635R |
| OEM Air Filter Element Part Number | 1B000806 |
| Spark Plug Model & Electrode Gap | NGK CR8EB (Electrode gap: 0.7 - 0.8 mm) |
Field note: The 150cc 3-Valve i-Get engine in the Sprint requires 1.1 L of 5W-40 synthetic oil during filter changes to prevent cam journal starvation during cold starts. Change the gearbox oil every 10,000 km with exactly 200 ml of SAE 80W-90 GL-4. For related specs on identical small-frame i-Get platforms, consult the complete Vespa Primavera 150 oil and transmission spec guide and the Piaggio Liberty 150 master guide.
Air Intake System
| Component | Air Filter Element |
|---|---|
| OEM Part Number | 1B000806 / B018070 |
| Dimensions | Foam pad element |
| Torque Spec | Airbox screws: 1.5 Nm |
| Fluid/Notes | Washable, requires light oiling |
| Cross-Compatibility | Vespa Primavera 150 (i-Get) |
Field note: This is a washable foam element that requires light re-oiling after cleaning — installing it bone dry (a mistake carried over from servicing paper-element filters) allows fine dust particles to pass through and accelerate cylinder wear. Use only filter-specific foam oil, never a heavy machine oil that can drip into the intake tract.
Rear Hub & Transmission
| Component | Rear Hub Gear Oil |
|---|---|
| OEM Part Number | N/A (Fluid Spec) |
| Dimensions/Notes | Capacity: ~200 cc (0.2L) |
| Torque Spec | Drain/Fill plug: 15-17 Nm |
| Fluid Spec | 80W-90 API GL-3 Gear Oil |
| Cross-Compatibility | All Piaggio i-Get 150cc engines |
Field note: This rear hub oil reservoir is frequently skipped entirely during standard service intervals because owners don't associate a "scooter" with a separate gear oil sump. Running this hub low or with degraded 80W-90 GL-3 oil causes gradual gear wear that presents as increasing drivetrain noise long before it becomes a functional problem — by which point the hub gears themselves usually need replacement. Never overfill past the 200cc capacity.
Engine Internals: Cylinder Head & Crankshaft
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| B018102 | 1 | Head Comp., Cylinder | i-Get 3-valve design shared with Primavera 150; resurface flatness < 0.05mm |
| B018115 | 1 | Valve, Exhaust | Check margin thickness > 0.5mm before reuse |
| B018122 | 2 | Valve, Inlet | Two intake valves per 3-valve design |
| B018140 | 1 | Gasket, Head Cyl. | Single-use metal composite; never reuse |
| B018165 | 1 | Camshaft Comp. | Chain-driven; inspect all three lobes for wear |
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| B018210 | 1 | Crankshaft Comp. | Check runout < 0.03mm on V-blocks |
| B018225 | 1 | Connecting Rod | Big-end side clearance spec: 0.1-0.4mm |
| B018250 | 1 | Piston (Std.) | Domed piston for 3-valve combustion chamber |
| B018265 | 1 | Piston Pin | Lightly oil before install; hand-pressure fit only |
| B018270 | 2 | Piston Pin Clip (Circlip) | Directional installation — see expert note below |
Field note: On this i-Get 3-valve engine shared with the Primavera 150, the piston pin circlips must be
installed with the opening gap oriented 90° to piston travel, never fore-or-aft. A backward clip
compresses under load until it ejects into the crankcase, and the freed pin gouges the cylinder wall on
the next stroke, destroying the bore. Use only new clips and confirm full seating by feel.

Field note: Vespa's steel body panels become brittle at the metal mounting flanges after years of UV and
moisture exposure, with rust forming under chipped paint at screw points. Never use an impact driver on
body screws, and apply light anti-seize or silicone grease to screw threads before reinstallation.
