3. Step-by-Step Brake Pad Replacement Procedure

Step 1: Remove Muffler Assembly and Swingarm Support Bracket

  1. Park the ADV 150 on the center stand and allow the exhaust to cool completely.
  2. Remove the 12mm exhaust flange nuts at the cylinder head and the 14mm bolts holding the muffler bracket.
  3. Unbolt the rear swingarm support bracket to gain full access to the rear caliper and axle shaft.

  1. Insert new OEM ceramic or sintered brake pads into the caliper guide slots.
  2. Thread the 5mm Allen retaining pin through the pad eyelets and tighten to 18 Nm.
  3. Reinstall the caliper over the rear brake disc and hand-thread the mounting bolts.

  1. Torque the rear caliper mounting bolts to 30 Nm and the rear axle nut to 118 Nm if it was loosened.
