Engine Fluids, Gear Oil & Filter Specifications
| Engine Oil Viscosity & JASO/API Standard | SAE 10W-40 | API SG/SL | JASO MB |
|---|---|
| Engine Oil Drain & Refill Capacity | 0.78 L (Without Filter/Strainer) / 0.85 L (Total Engine Capacity) |
| Final Drive / Gearbox Oil Viscosity & Capacity | SAE 10W-40 or SAE 80W-90 | 100 ml (Drain) / 110 ml (Total) |
| OEM Oil Filter Part Number | Wire Mesh Strainer Screen |
| OEM Air Filter Element Part Number | OEM # 3B3-E4451-00 |
| Spark Plug Model & Electrode Gap | NGK CR6HSA (0.6 – 0.7 mm gap) |
Field note: The boxy Yamaha C3 (XF50) shares its 3B3 engine block, wire mesh oil strainer, and 3B3-E4451-00 dry air filter with the Vino Classic 50. Never oil the dry pleated paper air filter. Cross-reference the Yamaha Vino Classic 50 spec guide and the Yamaha Zuma 50F master guide for shared component maintenance. See our technical report on piston pin circlip failure dynamics for small-bore top-end service.
Fuel System
| Component | Fuel Pump Assembly |
|---|---|
| OEM Part Number | 3B3-13907-00 |
| Dimensions | In-tank module |
| Torque Spec | Mounting plate bolts: 7 Nm |
| Fluid/Electrical Notes | Maintains approx 36 psi |
| Cross-Compatibility | Yamaha Zuma 50F |
Field note: Over-tightening the mounting plate bolts beyond 7 Nm distorts the rubber sealing gasket around the tank opening, allowing fuel vapor to escape and creating both a fire hazard and a persistent fuel-smell complaint. Always keep the work area free of debris when removing the in-tank module — any dirt that falls into the tank during service circulates directly through this pump and can clog the injector.
Engine Internals: Cylinder Head & Crankshaft
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3B3-11181-00 | 1 | Head Comp., Cylinder | Resurface flatness tolerance 0.05mm max |
| 3B3-12111-00 | 1 | Valve, Exhaust | Check margin thickness > 0.5mm before reuse |
| 3B3-12101-00 | 1 | Valve, Inlet | Do not swap positions with exhaust valve |
| 3B3-11351-00 | 1 | Gasket, Cylinder Head | Single-use metal composite; never reuse |
| 3B3-11421-00 | 1 | Camshaft Comp. | Chain-driven; inspect lobe wear before reinstall |
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3B3-11400-00 | 1 | Crankshaft Comp. | Check runout < 0.03mm on V-blocks |
| 3B3-11650-00 | 1 | Connecting Rod | Big-end side clearance spec: 0.1-0.4mm |
| 3B3-11631-00 | 1 | Piston (Std.) | Domed piston, 2-ring set |
| 3B3-11633-00 | 1 | Piston Pin | Lightly oil before install; hand-pressure fit only |
| 3B3-11635-00 | 2 | Piston Pin Clip (Circlip) | Directional installation — see expert note below |
Field note: On this small-bore fuel-injected single, the piston pin circlips must be installed with the
opening gap oriented 90° to the direction of piston travel, never fore-or-aft. A backward clip
compresses under inertial load until it walks out of its groove and ejects into the crankcase, and the
freed pin gouges the cylinder wall on the following stroke, destroying the bore. Use only new clips and
confirm full seating by feel before closing the case.

Field note: Yamaha's painted plastic panels become progressively brittle at the mounting tabs after
roughly three years of continuous UV exposure, even when the paint surface still looks presentable. Never
use an impact driver on body screws, and apply silicone grease (never petroleum-based) to rubber grommets
before removal so panels flex free without cracking.
