Engine Fluids, Gear Oil & Filter Specifications
| Engine Oil Viscosity & JASO/API Standard | SAE 10W-40 | API SG/SL | JASO MB |
|---|---|
| Engine Oil Drain & Refill Capacity | 0.78 L (Without Filter/Strainer) / 0.85 L (Total Engine Capacity) |
| Final Drive / Gearbox Oil Viscosity & Capacity | SAE 10W-40 or SAE 80W-90 | 100 ml (Drain) / 110 ml (Total) |
| OEM Oil Filter Part Number | Wire Mesh Strainer Screen |
| OEM Air Filter Element Part Number | OEM # 10B-E4451-00 |
| Spark Plug Model & Electrode Gap | NGK CR6HSA (0.6 – 0.7 mm gap) |
Field note: The 4-stroke Zuma 50F engine uses a cleanable wire mesh oil strainer located under the oil drain cap. Ensure the sealing O-ring is inspected and greased with clean engine oil upon reassembly. For liquid-cooled 50cc shared architecture details, cross-reference our Yamaha C3 XF50 master maintenance guide and Yamaha Vino Classic 50 guide. Top-end rebuild technicians should review the wrist pin circlip retention failure analysis for internal safety protocol.
Air Intake System
| Component | Air Filter Element |
|---|---|
| OEM Part Number | 10B-E4451-00 |
| Dimensions | Pleated paper, OEM exact |
| Torque Spec | Airbox screws: 1.5 Nm |
| Fluid/Electrical Notes | Dry type |
| Cross-Compatibility | Yamaha C3 (XF50) |
Field note: This is a dry paper element — applying foam filter oil to it (a habit carried over from other small scooters) clogs the paper fibers and restricts airflow rather than improving filtration, causing a rich-running condition and reduced fuel economy. Keep airbox screws at 1.5 Nm; the plastic mounting bosses on this small airbox crack easily under power-tool torque.
Engine Internals: Cylinder Head & Crankshaft
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1KP-11181-00 | 1 | Head Comp., Cylinder | Shared architecture with Yamaha C3 (XF50); resurface flatness < 0.05mm |
| 1KP-12111-00 | 1 | Valve, Exhaust | Check margin thickness > 0.5mm before reuse |
| 1KP-12101-00 | 1 | Valve, Inlet | Do not swap positions with exhaust valve |
| 1KP-11351-00 | 1 | Gasket, Cylinder Head | Single-use metal composite; never reuse |
| 1KP-11421-00 | 1 | Camshaft Comp. | Chain-driven; inspect lobe wear before reinstall |
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1KP-11400-00 | 1 | Crankshaft Comp. | Check runout < 0.03mm on V-blocks |
| 1KP-11650-00 | 1 | Connecting Rod | Big-end side clearance spec: 0.1-0.4mm |
| 1KP-11631-00 | 1 | Piston (Std.) | Domed piston, 2-ring set |
| 1KP-11633-00 | 1 | Piston Pin | Lightly oil before install; hand-pressure fit only |
| 1KP-11635-00 | 2 | Piston Pin Clip (Circlip) | Directional installation — see expert note below |
Field note: On this small-bore 4-stroke engine, the piston pin circlips must be installed with the
opening gap oriented 90° to piston travel, never fore-or-aft. A backward clip compresses under
inertial load until it walks out of its groove and ejects into the crankcase, and the freed pin gouges
the cylinder wall on the following stroke, destroying the bore on an engine with very little material
margin to absorb damage. Use only new clips and confirm full seating by feel.

Field note: The Zuma 50F's exposed-frame design means its plastic panels are directly sun-exposed on all
sides rather than shielded by surrounding bodywork, accelerating the typical UV brittleness timeline at
the mounting tabs. Never use an impact driver on body screws, and apply silicone grease to rubber
grommets before removal to minimize flex stress on already-exposed tabs.
