Engine Fluids, Gear Oil & Filter Specifications
| Engine Oil Viscosity & JASO/API Standard | SAE 10W-40 | API SG/SL | JASO MB |
|---|---|
| Engine Oil Drain & Refill Capacity | 1.0 L (Without Filter/Strainer) / 1.2 L (With Strainer Service) |
| Final Drive / Gearbox Oil Viscosity & Capacity | SAE 10W-40 or SAE 80W-90 | 130 ml (Drain) / 140 ml (Total) |
| OEM Oil Filter Part Number | Strainer OEM # 54P-E3411-00 |
| OEM Air Filter Element Part Number | OEM # 52S-E4451-00 |
| Spark Plug Model & Electrode Gap | NGK CR7HSA (0.6 – 0.7 mm gap) |
Field note: The air-cooled Vino 125 engine uses an oil strainer screen (OEM # 54P-E3411-00). Always check final drive gear oil levels (130 ml drain / 140 ml total volume) at every oil interval. See the Yamaha Zuma 125 master guide for shared 125cc CVT drive specs. For vacuum and intake troubleshooting, read our 125cc intake vacuum leak diagnostic guide.
CVT Transmission System
| Component | CVT Drive Belt |
|---|---|
| OEM Part Number | 5PD-E7641-00 |
| Dimensions | 780 x 21.5 mm |
| Torque Spec | Primary sheave nut: 45 Nm (33 lbf·ft) |
| Cross-Compatibility | Yamaha Cygnus 125 |
Field note: Under-torquing this 45 Nm sheave nut is a frequent cause of a subtle top-end rattle that develops gradually over a few hundred miles as the nut slowly loosens — by the time the noise is loud enough to notice, taper wear on the crankshaft has often already begun. Always re-torque and inspect after the first 200-300 miles following any belt service.
Engine Internals: Cylinder Head & Crankshaft
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5PD-11181-00 | 1 | Head Comp., Cylinder | Shared architecture with Zuma 125; resurface flatness < 0.05mm |
| 5PD-12111-00 | 1 | Valve, Exhaust | Check margin thickness > 0.5mm before reuse |
| 5PD-12101-00 | 1 | Valve, Inlet | Do not swap positions with exhaust valve |
| 5PD-11351-00 | 1 | Gasket, Cylinder Head | Single-use metal composite; never reuse |
| 5PD-11421-00 | 1 | Camshaft Comp. | Chain-driven; inspect lobe wear before reinstall |
| Part No. | Qty | Part Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5PD-11400-00 | 1 | Crankshaft Comp. | Check runout < 0.03mm on V-blocks |
| 5PD-11650-00 | 1 | Connecting Rod | Big-end side clearance spec: 0.1-0.4mm |
| 5PD-11631-00 | 1 | Piston (Std.) | Domed piston, 3-ring set |
| 5PD-11633-00 | 1 | Piston Pin | Lightly oil before install; hand-pressure fit only |
| 5PD-11635-00 | 2 | Piston Pin Clip (Circlip) | Directional installation — see expert note below |
Field note: On this 125cc single shared with the Yamaha Cygnus 125, the piston pin circlips must be
installed with the opening gap oriented 90° to piston travel, never fore-or-aft. A backward clip
compresses under load until it ejects into the crankcase, and the freed pin gouges the cylinder wall on
the next stroke, destroying the bore. Use only new clips and confirm full seating by feel.

Field note: Yamaha's painted plastic panels become progressively brittle at the mounting tabs after
roughly three years of continuous UV exposure. Never use an impact driver on body screws, and apply
silicone grease (never petroleum-based) to rubber grommets before removal so panels flex free without
cracking.
